Aston Villa fans have praised Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa for letting Pontus Jansson leave.
Leeds confirmed Jansson had joined Brentford last night, in a move which has proven to be controversial at Elland Road.
When Leeds were ordered to allow Villa to score by Bielsa last season, Jansson appeared to keep on playing as he was so against his manager’s decision.
It is claimed that Jansson’s relationship with Bielsa deteriorated as a result of his actions against Villa.
And Villa fans have actually backed the Leeds manager’s decision, as they think the Whites will be better off without Jansson.
Can’t blame Bielsa. Discipline and manager authority everything— Mr Thompson (@mrthompson81) July 8, 2019
the lad has an attitude problem. just like kepa thinking he knows better than sarri. a few people linked him to villa but he wouldn't fit in at villa - hes not a team player.— Warlord (@bedabopbop) July 8, 2019
I like bielsa— Juggz (@Moooobz) July 8, 2019
Bielsa showed his true character that day. So did Jansson. Sarri could have learned a lot from Bielsa's way of handling egotistical primadonnas. For this reason alone, I hope Leeds go up (preferably without Bamford lol)— Kevin O'Sullivan (@ClaretKev1980) July 8, 2019
Bielsa truly is in my book a man of principles and dignity, yeah ok he spied on Derby but that was them, for us he's been absolutely ace top bloke pic.twitter.com/HmrNJKMCem— MrVilla (@MrAstonVillan) July 8, 2019
I love bielsa— wesleyszn (@MasterMoraess) July 8, 2019
I will always respect Bielsa for the way he handled that situation.— Andy Hart (@fandangogroover) July 8, 2019
Leeds will almost certainly have to enter the market to buy a centre-back now Jansson has left.
Bielsa’s options in the position now look short, even though they have brought in Ben White on loan this summer.
