It is pretty obvious to one and all that Everton are in need of some firepower up front as they aim to prepare for the new Premier League campaign.
But in their search for that firepower, the Toffees might have just opted to target the most explosive of players in Europe.
The Daily Mail have claimed that Everton are interested in Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, who would be very well known to Premier League fans.
It is said that owner Farhad Moshri has ordered the Merseyside outfit to look into the possibility of signing the 30-year-old.
Whilst Costa divides opinions, on his day he can be brutal, an absolute nuisance to opposition defenders and an absolute joy to watch.
If Everton were to push through for a deal for him and land the player with the above qualities then they'll be making the best signing outside of the top-six this summer.
There have been some impressive buys already during this transfer window from West Ham signing Pablo Fornals to Aston Villa breaking their transfer record for a Brazilian powerhouse.
But no-one, on their day, will match Costa.
Marco Silva is searching for goals and if he can get the Spain international running in the right direction then his team will be hitting the back of the net on a consistent basis.
But with it, comes the risk and how his presence and behaviour can be problematic to everyone associated with the club. If that Costa turns up then he's not even worth signing on a free transfer.
