Tyrone Mings has joined Aston Villa from Bournemouth in the summer transfer window.

Paul McGrath has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Tyrone Mings joining Aston Villa on a permanent contract from Bournemouth in the summer transfer window.

Villa, who will play in the Premier League next season after clinching promotion from the Championship via the playoffs, have secured the services of Mings for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £20 million.

The 26-year-old defender spent the second half of last season on loan at the Villans from the Cherries.

Villa legend McGrath has taken to Twitter to express his delight at the signing of Mings by Dean Smith’s side.

Good signing for Aston Villa?

Mings is a very good defender whose progress in recent years has been stunted by injuries.

However, during the second half of last season, the defender played regularly for Villa and was a key figure in the Villans’ clinching promotion to the Premier League from the Championship via the playoffs.

According to WhoScored, Mings made 18 appearances in the Championship for Villa during the second half of last season, scoring two goals in the process.
