Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly decided that they are open to offers for Marcus Edwards this summer.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Marcus Edwards is amongst the group of players that Tottenham have decided to be open to offers for this summer.
Edwards has endured a difficult time since being tipped for great things as a teenager. However, the 20-year-old enjoyed a much better loan spell last season, scoring twice and contributing four assists in the Eredivisie with Excelsior.
The promise that he showed may have hinted that he may have an outside chance of forcing his way back onto the periphery of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, especially with Spurs loaning Jack Clarke back to Leeds immediately after completing a deal for the winger.
But the Daily Mail is now reporting that Tottenham have sent various clubs a list of names consisting of players that they will listen to bids for this summer, and Edwards is one of those included.
It may not come as a great surprise that Spurs will listen to offers for Edwards. There does appear to only be a very small chance that he could be given an opportunity to prove to Pochettino that he can realise his full potential.
But with the report hinting that Tottenham are now open to offers, it has now perhaps become even more imperative that Edwards takes any lifeline that comes his way in the coming weeks.
