According to a report from Spanish media outlet Mucho Deporte, Liverpool are still showing the strongest interest in Real Betis ace Junior Firpo, and they will have to pay £27 million at the very least to bring him to Anfield.

The Spain under-21 international left-back, 22, was in fine form for Betis last season, racking up three goals and four assists in 24 La Liga outings, and he would undoubtedly be a really useful addition for the Reds.

Liverpool need a new left-back, having lost Alberto Moreno on a free transfer this summer, and Andy Robertson will need some strong competition for his place, if he is to continue his development.

And Firpo could be just the ticket for the Merseyside outfit.

He is incredibly quick, possesses a dangerous delivery, and is a sound defender.

The Spaniard would undoubtedly push Robertson for the first-choice left-back role next term, and should Liverpool manage to sign him for just £27 million, it could turn out to be a real coup for Jurgen Klopp's side.
