Aston Villa star is getting closer to returning to action.

Orjan Nyland’s return from injury is nearly complete.

After suffering a ruptured Achilles in December he was ruled out for the rest of the season.

Nyland has been providing Villa fans with regular updates on his rehabilitation from injury with posts on social media.

Yesterday he posted an important milestone, showing his return to the training pitch with a picture from Bodymoor Heath.

Nyland must work harder to get back into the Villa first team ahead of Jed Steer, but this is impressive progress regardless to be back near full fitness again.

Among the replies Nyland received was one from ex-loanee Tyrone Mings, who wrote ‘congrats mate’.

Mings and Nyland never actually played together as the Bournemouth defender joined after Nyland’s injury.

With Villa keen to sign Mings permanently, perhaps there is still time.
