Jurgen Klopp reportedly wants to bring Real Madrid’s La Liga benchwarmer Dani Ceballos to Premier League runners-up Liverpool.
One point. One single point.
That is how close Liverpool came to lifting the Premier League title for the first time last season. Unfortunately, draws against the likes of Leicester and West Ham cost Jurgen Klopp’s side their shot at glory as Manchester City’s winning machine steamrollered all in their path and finished the campaign with a remarkable 98 points.
But has Klopp identified the player who could turn Liverpool into gallant runners-up into the Champions of England at last? The fans certainly think so.
According to Marca, Liverpool have emerged as contenders to sign Dani Ceballos ahead of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
They Merseyside giants have apparently increased their interest in the Real Madrid benchwarmer in recent weeks while Ceballos led the continent’s best young defenders on a merry dance as Spain won the U21 European Championships in Italy.
The affable Klopp apparently believes Ceballos, who is valued at £45 million (AS), could provide the thrust and dynamism Liverpool need to give their hard-working midfield some sparkle and skill.
Is Ceballos the missing piece in Liverpool’s jigsaw?

Forget about Isco and Asensio, Dani #Ceballos is the real deal.
Couple of years ago, I wished #LFC could snatch him from Real Betis.
Regardless of this current price tag, I still wish we sign him.

We should be all over that Ceballos loan.
One of the best in the new generation of young Spanish midfielders.
Been saying it for a while now, but if you can get him out of Madrid and into the red of @LFC then that’s what you should do.
