Tottenham Hotspur have removed Fernando Llorente on their website.

Tottenham Hotspur haven’t yet announced Fernando Llorente’s exit.

The Spaniard is technically a free agent after his Spurs contract expired on Sunday but the lack of acknowledgement has confused Tottenham fans.

Granted, he wasn’t a huge success in North London, but it does seem odd that they wouldn’t highlight the fact that he has left.

A report from Sky Sports last month has added to the confusion, where they claimed that the Lilywhites could keep him despite missing the deadline to trigger a one-year extension.

So, is Llorente gone? According to the club’s official website, yes.

They haven’t specifically confirmed it, but Tottenham do appear to have removed him from their list of players in what seems to be a clear sign that he is gone and won’t be coming back.

Fans won’t be overly distraught because, despite scoring some important goals last season, he netted twice in the Premier League since joining two years ago.

It’s a dreadful return for a centre-forward and one that illustrates that he wasn’t the right man to back up Harry Kane.
