Aston Villa have already signed one Southampton defender this summer.

Southampton fans are reacting to reports linking another of their players with Aston Villa.
Aston Villa have already prised the left-back, Matt Targett, away from Southampton and could return for the centre-back, Jack Stephens, according to the Daily Mirror (July 2, page 49).
The Villans made Targett their fifth permanent summer acquisition earlier this week, but after losing two key centre-backs, Axel Tuanzebe and Tyrone Mings, at the end of last season, they still have gaps to fill ahead of their Premier League return.
And while Tuanzebe and Mings have each been linked with returns to Villa Park, it would be wise to seek alternatives, with Stephens – seemingly – fitting the bill.

But those of a Southampton persuasion don’t seem all too concerned by the prospect of Stephens leaving.
This is what they’re saying on Twitter…
Stephens played 24 times as Southampton survived the drop last season.
And with three years left on his contract he, like Targett, is unlikely to come cheap, despite the opinion of some Saints fans.
Would Stephens be a good addition for Aston Villa?
