Aston Villa fans have been left dumbfounded after Che Adams' first Southampton interview, following his departure from Birmingham City.

Adams left Birmingham for Southampton yesterday, and he made a statement which Villa fans immediately couldn’t believe.

In his first interview with Southampton’s official website Adams suggested that he was trying to win the Premier League at St. Mary’s.

“It’s a huge club, like I said, obviously we want to win the league, but it’s a lot to ask for,” Adams said.

“You have to set yourself targets to hit and with the squad here there’s no reason why we can’t.”

Villa supporters have been left shocked by Adams’ admission, and have suggested that the former Birmingham man is being far too ambitious.

Adams’s arrival at Southampton has caused great excitement, as he could provide them with what they were lacking last season.

The Saints never really found a prolific goalscorer but Adams showed during his time with Birmingham that he knew how to hit the back of the net.

Villa boss Dean Smith certainly appears to know the importance of having a dangerous attack, as he has already moved to sign Wesley Moraes from Club Brugge this summer.
