According to Bristol Live, Aston Villa are ready to quadruple Adam Webster’s current wages at Bristol City.

It has been reported that talks between promoted Premier League club Villa and Championship outfit City have continued following the Villans' £12 million bid last week that was rejected.

 

The Robins want as much as £30m as transfer fee for the 24-year-old, but Villa feel that they can secure the services of the central defender for £20m to £25m, according to the report.

According to Bristol Live, Villa are also ready to quadruple Webster’s current wages at City.

Good signing for Aston Villa

Villa need to sign a promising and young defender, and Webster does fit the bill for Dean Smith’s side.

The 24-year-old made 43 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for City last season, scoring three goals in the process, according to WhoScored.

During the 2017-18 campaign, the central defender made 25 starts and three substitute appearances in the Championship for Ipswich Town, providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
