Report: Arsenal in 'advanced negotiations' over Yacine Brahimi

Arsenal are reportedly far along in their pursuit of Yacine Brahimi.

Arsenal are in 'very advanced talks' to snap up Yacine Brahimi on a Bosman, according to La Gazette Du Fennec.

The Algeria international is available on a free transfer after his five-year spell with Porto came to an end this summer.

Unai Emery is yet to sign anybody for the Gunners so far, but La Gazette Du Fennec has reported that Brahimi could be the first through the door at Arsenal.

The report adds that Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas have made offers, but Brahimi wants the 'sporting and financical' rewards that the Premier League has to offer.

This could be a brilliant signing by Arsenal.

Emery is severely handicapped in the transfer market and only has a budget of around £45 million, which is peanuts for many other Premier League sides.

That's why every penny has to count and to be potentially signing a player of Brahimi's experience and talent for free is a quality bit of business, if it materialises.

He also has nine goals and nine assists in the Champions League, which isn't all that relevant to Arsenal because they aren't in the competition, but it does illustrate his pedigree.
