Everton's Kurt Zouma

Leeds United may have reason to keep an eye over whether Kurt Zouma makes a move to Everton.

The Sun have reported how Leeds want to sign Jake Clarke-Salter from Chelsea on loan this summer, but his future could be closely intertwined with Zouma’s.

According to Goal, Chelsea could promoted the Leeds target into their own first-team if Zouma does move to Everton.

The Toffees are willing to pay £30 million for the French centre-back, and if the transfer does go ahead it could disrupt Leeds’ transfer plans.

With Chelsea under a transfer ban they will have to promote from within to cover for Zouma if he does depart, which could provide Clarke-Salter with a chance.

Leeds have already brought in one centre-back this summer, with Ben White arriving today.

But the addition of Clarke-Salter could strengthen Marcelo Bielsa’s options even further, and Leeds may have reason to hope that Everton don’t get Zouma now.
