Don Hutchison has criticised Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley on Twitter.

The former Sunderland midfielder has stated that Ashley does not deserve a club like Newcastle where the fans are so loyal.

Hutchison, who is a Newcastle fan, made the comments in the wake of Rafael Benitez explaining his exit from the Magpies this summer on his official Twitter page.

New managerial appointment

Newcastle fans have not been happy with Ashley for a while, and one suspects that the St. James’ Park faithful will not be too displeased if and when the English businessman sells the club.

For now, it is important that Newcastle find a manager as soon as possible, as pre-season training will start soon.

It is going to be hard for the Magpies to find someone as good as Benitez, who is one of the elite managers in the world.

Newcastle have been in the Premier League for the past two seasons, but in 2019-20, the Magpies could struggle to avoid the drop to the Championship.
