Aston Villa supporters on Twitter have lauded Ahmed Elmohamady after he was on the scoresheet again for Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations league.
Egypt, who have already reached the knockout stages of the AFCON cup, made it three wins out of three on Sunday when they beat Uganda 2-0 - Elmohamady scored for the second game running.
Villa's official Twitter account posted a video of Elmohamady's goal and congratulated him for getting on the scoresheet once again.
The senior man ended the previous campaign in a very strong fashion as he helped Dean Smith's side earn promotion to the Premier League - he assisted Anwar El Ghazi for Villa's opening goal in the play-off final at Wembley.
Nonetheless, he has seemingly taken that form into the AFCON's and Villa fans aren't surprised as they pointed towards his recent form.
One fan even stated that he expects him to start for Villa on the first day of the new Premier League season - Villa face Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham side at the new stadium.
Either way, Villa supporters were glad to see their player making his mark on the tournament as he has a big chance of winning the whole thing with his home country.
Considering he is still on international duty, there's no doubt that Elmohamady will be one of the players who will return late to pre-season, which should give new signing Fred Guilbert the chance to impress.
Here is a selection of Villa fans reacting to Elmohamady's goal:
