Aston Villa fans are hopeful that Tyrone Mings is in discussions with Dean Smith, after his latest Instagram post.

Mings posted on social media website that he was in Vilamoura in Portugal, which is the exact same location that Villa boss Smith was in over the weekend.

The Scottish Sun reported how Villa duo Smith and John Terry were in Vilamoura having a look at the facilities on offer.

And Villa fans are now hoping that they have seen evidence that Mings’ move to Villa Park is edging closer.

The Sun have reported how Villa have been trying to sign Mings from Bournemouth for much of the summer so far.

The powerful centre-back spent last term on loan at Villa Park, and was one of the key reasons why they were able to earn promotion.

Mings was brilliant at the back for Villa, and if he did sign he would instantly be given a hero’s welcome at Villa Park.

Smith’s side are thought to be on the hunt for two centre-backs this summer, with Villa needing additions in defence if they are to compete at the top level.
