Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are set to sign up the teenager to a new deal.
Well, Rangers fans can breathe a big sigh of relief – soon.
According to The Glasgow Evening Times, Josh McPake is on the verge of signing a new three-year deal with the Ibrox club.
The 17-year-old is one of the most exciting prospects at Auchenhowie, so much so that Liverpool and Roma have been linked with the Rangers gem [The Record].
In fact, he even rejected an earlier extension attempt by the Scottish giants back in March, spiking fans’ anxiety over whether he’s going to be another Billy Gilmour, but McPake is now set to stay in Glasgow for the foreseeable future.
Here’s how Gers fans reacted to the development:

McPake scored a hat-trick against Celtic for Rangers’ youth side earlier this year, underlining his promise and this would be a huge boost if he signs on.
Light Blues boss Steven Gerrard is a ‘huge admirer’ of the teenage winger [The Record] who clearly feels as if the Liverpool icon can take him to the next level, if he’s willing to stay at Auchenhowie.
