Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Derby County reportedly want Liam McCarron of Carlisle United.

According to The Birmingham Mail, Leeds United are close to beating Wolverhampton Wanderers and Derby County to the signature of Liam McCarron.

It has been reported that Leeds are close to agreeing a six-figure transfer fee with Carlisle United over the transfer of the 18-year-old midfielder this summer.

The report has also claimed of interest in the teenager from Wolves, Derby and Sheffield United, and has stated that he is valued at £250,000.

Coup for Leeds United

McCarron is only 18 years of age and far is from the finished article, but the midfielder is hugely talented and has a lot of potential.

The midfielder is unlikely to establish himself as a regular in the Leeds first team next season, but the youngster will be a good option to have on the substitutes’ bench.

Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa is very good at developing young and talented footballers, and McCarron could progress well under him in the coming years.

The Whites will be aiming to finish in the top two of the Championship next season.
