Celtic 'beat' Norwich to landing David Turnbull, only for the move to collapse.
Celtic appeared to have beaten Norwich City to the signing of David Turnbull, with the player feeling the move was best of his career.
Now his big transfer from Motherwell has collapsed, with BBC Sport reporting this was due to complications arising from a medical.
Turnbull could now need a knee operation, it emerges.
This all placed the midfielder back in limbo, when it seemed the football world was at his feet.
The whole saga has been a frustrating one for him, and for both Celtic and Motherwell.
Motherwell are now set to miss out on a fee of £3 million.
As for Norwich, their move never even got to the medical stage, with Celtic twisting his arm.
Turnbull could still swing a move to Norwich next season, but he will have to prove his fitness this season.
Here is a look at how Norwich fans reacted on Twitter to the reports...
David Turnbull to Norwich next week watch it deals back on now but player lose half of signing bonus after picking Celtic first #Ncfc— Thomas (@tommykerrison) June 27, 2019
I understand not wanting to be Turnbull's second choice but didn't he say some really positive stuff about #Norwich? It's a big move for a teenager geographically and I can understand him choosing #Celtic, but now that's not on the cards I'd still have him. #NCFC #CelticFC— Ben Jacklin (@BenJacklin) June 27, 2019
Dodged one there I think— stuart prophet (@stuartprophet1) June 27, 2019
If I was Stuart Webber, I'd walk away. The players who have signed here in the last 2 years are desperate to play for the club and that is what has got us where we are. Yes Celtic are a massive club but, lets be honest, the Thurlow Nunn is more competitive than the SPL.— Klobo (@Klobo15) June 27, 2019
