Chris Sutton reacts to Martin O'Neill leaving Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest parted company with Martin O'Neill, with the Irishman lasting just six months at the City Ground.

Chris Sutton has suggested ‘the game has gone’ after Nottingham Forest confirmed that Martin O’Neill had left earlier today.

Forest made a brief statement on their official website confirming O’Neill’s departure.

 

The Irishman lasted just six months in charge at Forest, before being let go.

And Sutton clearly took a dim view on the 67-year-old’s departure.

It is fair to say that O’Neill wasn’t the most popular of managers at Forest right from the moment he was appointed.

There was a feeling from a section of the crowd that O’Neill was the wrong man to take over at Forest, and he never truly won over his doubters at the City Ground.

The Reds failed to make the play offs last term, and didn’t progress following Aitor Karanka’s departure.

Forest will now be on the look out for yet another new manager, with their preparations for next season disrupted.
