Reading have been linked with AFC Wimbledon’s Joe Pigott.

AFC Wimbledon boss Wally Downes says his side haven’t received a bid from Reading for Joe Pigott amid reports the Royals are keen on the £250,000 rated forward, South London Press report.
“No, none,” Downes confirmed when asked if a bid had been received.
“He is bound to be of interest to any club looking to sign a striker. But he is on a long, secure contract from last season. I imagine there will be lots of clubs interested in someone who has scored the goals he has scored – and the amount of goals that he has scored.”
According to a report in the Daily Mail on Tuesday, Reading were looking to beat several Championship clubs to the signature of Wimbledon’s prized asset, and they wanted to make their move quickly.
The Royals struggled for goals last season and after failing to integrate last summer’s signing Marc McNulty into their side, they have reason to seek another striker addition during the upcoming transfer window.
Pigott was an instrumental figure during Wimbledon’s League One survival campaign last term. He scored 15 league goals, directly resulting in his side gaining 19 of their 50 points.

The 25-year-old was a standout in League One, and Reading may believe he has the tools to move up to the Championship and repeat his goal scoring heroics at the Madejski Stadium.
Downes, however, suggests he is on a healthy contract with the Dons which places the League One club in a strong negotiating position should the Royals soon come in with an initial offer.
