Leicester City appear to have won the race for James Justin.

James Justin of Luton Town

Luton Town defender James Justin enjoyed a superb campaign as he won promotion to the Championship – but he looks to be skipping the second tier and heading straight to the Premier League.

Justin, 21, was born in Luton and has come up through the ranks with his hometown club, become a star under Nathan Jones before his move to Stoke City.

Whilst right-footed, Justin starred at left back, and his versatility to play in either full back position has sparked major interest in the youngster’s services.

The Sun now report that Leicester City will sign Justin in a deal which would come to £10million, beating Aston Villa and Crystal Palace to his signature.

Justin will now head to the King Power Stadium, offering cover for both Ricardo Pereira and Ben Chilwell, whilst Brendan Rodgers can now develop him over the coming years.

Villa missing out is a blow, as that versatility would have been ideal behind Frederic Guilbert on the right, whilst he may have really pushed Neil Taylor for a starting role on the left.

Villa fans have now taken to Twitter to admit their disappointment at missing out on Justin, feeling that he could have been a fine addition to Dean Smith’s side.

One fan admitted that he’s gutted at missing out, whilst others think joining Leicester makes no sense in terms of playing time, even sharing concerns about Villa’s transfer window even after landing four signings, claiming there’s work to do.
