Although PlayStation 4 owners can brag about having God Of War, Marvel's Spider-Man, and Days Gone, they'll still be jealous that the Xbox One and PC boasts arguably 2019's best video game, Outer Wilds.
Some indie games are infinitely superior to the majority of AAA titles due to being legitimately creative and charming, and Outer Wilds is one of said indie darlings.
Kingdom Hearts 3, Resident Evil 2, and Devil May Cry 5 are all massive titles that have launched this year, but Outer Wilds is perhaps the most renowned game of the year thus far and it's a rare gem PS4 owners cannot enjoy as of this moment.
Will the Xbox One exclusive Outer Wilds ever land on PS4?
Outer Wilds is a bite-size space adventure that sees players explore a number of diverse and ever-changing planets to solve a handful of head scratching puzzles while stuck in a Groundhog Day time loop.
It boasts gorgeous visuals, it provokes a genuine sense of wonder and delight, and it's a captivating and profound experience that Kotaku's Jason Schreier has aptly described as a combination of Metroid, Majora's Mask, No Man's Sky, and Return Of The Obra Dinn.
While it'd be ridiculous to suggest that any Xbox One owner should weep for the arrogant PS4 community, there's no denying that Sony gamers are missing out on something truly special.
But will they forever be unable to play the biggest Indie hit in years?
Well, although developer Morbius Digital hasn't talked about the PlayStation 4 in the past, there's nothing stopping them from porting it to the PS4 as Outer Wilds isn't published or financed by Microsoft in any capacity.
This doesn't confirm that Morbius Digital has any plans to make their breakout game available on as many platforms as possible, but it's no doubt a clamoured for possibility that could one day become a reality.
