We may have got a wonderful reunion with some of cinema’s greatest characters in Toy Story 4 but we also met some of Disney’s creepiest villains yet

Toy Story 4 finally hit cinemas over the weekend and after a nine-year wait, we got a wonderful reunion with our favourite animated toys.

Seeing Woody, Buzz, Jessie and co. again was a joy to behold. However, some of the film’s new toys were a less than pleasant sight.

During Toy Story 4, Woody and new addition Forky venture into the Second Chance Antique store in search of Bo Peep, instead they find the slightly sinister Gabby Gabby and the completely and utterly nightmare inducing Bensons, a group of terrifying ventriloquist dummies.

What’s Toy Story 4 all about?

Toy Story 4 continues the tale of Woody, Buzz and the gang following the events of Toy Story 3 that saw Andy give up his much-loved toys to new owner Bonnie.

When Bonnie starts her first day of Kindergarten, she ends up making a new toy of her own, Forky.

However, Forky is convinced that he’s little more than trash and tries to get himself thrown out.

Knowing how important Forky is to Bonnie, it’s up to Woody to make sure that Forky is returned to Bonnie safely after the spork’s attempts to escape finally succeed.

Along the way, Woody and co. come across Bo Beep, who was absent from Toy Story 3, and the menacing Gabby Gabby and her silent squad of sentient ventriloquist dummies.

Are the Bensons the creepiest villains in Disney history?

If you’ve seen any of the Toy Story 4 trailers, or even the film itself by now, you’ll know just how creepy these new additions are.

The question is, are they the scariest villains in Disney history?

There’s certainly plenty of competition as Disney and Pixar have seemingly perfected the art of creating creepy villains that somehow make it into these kids movies.

The Bensons easily fall into the same category as the most feared villains ever to come out of the house of mouse including the likes of the evil Queen in Snow White, Jafar from Aladdin and, of course, One Hundred and One Dalmatians’ Cruella de Vil.

Thanks to the incredible quality of the animation in Toy Story 4 and the way in which the Benson dummies are brought to life in such unnerving and believable fashion, they have to be considered far creepier than the likes of Mulan’s Shan Yu and Ursula from The Little Mermaid.

Even Forky, the new addition to Toy Story 4, agrees and says during the film that the Benson dolls are terrifying.

With all of that said, we have to conclude that the Benson ventriloquist dummies are indeed the creepiest villains ever created in a Disney or Pixar film, except one perhaps…

Darla from Finding Nemo.

Toy Story 4 hit cinemas on Friday, June 21st and will likely be hanging around in cinemas for the next few weeks.
