Everton have already been linked with one of McCann’s Hull City players.
The new Hull City manager, Grant McCann, wants to sign Josh Bowler on loan from Everton, according to The Daily Mirror (June 25, page 53).
Bowler moved to Everton in a £1.25 million deal from Queens Park Rangers two years ago.
He only played once for QPR and has yet to appear for the Toffees’ first team, despite having impressed at under-23 level.
And it is claimed McCann is ready to take him for the season to help build up his experience.
Interestingly, a winger McCann inherited at Hull, Jarrod Bowen, has been linked with a move to Everton.
Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and Southampton are among the other clubs being credited with an interest in Bowen, but Hull’s apparent desire to add Bowler to their ranks could give Everton the upper hand in any pursuit of the player who scored 22 Championship goals last season.
Should Everton send Bowler to Hull?
