The youngster could join Blackburn Rovers after leaving Leeds United.

Joshua Rae appears to be training with Blackburn Rovers after leaving Leeds United.

The goalkeeper was released by Leeds at the end of last season, just weeks after making his debut for the Whites’ victorious under-23 side.

But a Championship return could now be on the cards for Rae at Blackburn.

Roy Keane and the growing links to Celtic

Rae posted from Blackburn on his Instagram story yesterday (Monday) and followed that up with an update, in which he can be seen wearing Rovers colours, earlier this afternoon.

Accompanying the latter, a caption read: ‘Second day done’.

Whether or not Rae has signed for Blackburn has yet to be confirmed, although the most likely scenario is perhaps that the young Scot is on trial in Lancashire.

Rae moved to Leeds from Celtic’s youth system in 2017, but faced competition from Kamil Miazek (below), Will Huffer and Harrison Male had he stayed at Elland Road.

Did Leeds make the right call releasing Rae?
