Premier League Norwich City are reportedly set to raid Scottish Premiership outfits Partick Thistle and Aberdeen to leave Celtic and Rangers disappointed.

Norwich City are set to sign two of Scottish football’s brightest talents with Partick Thistle winger Aiden Fitzpatrick and Aberdeen goalkeeper Archie Mair on their way to Carrow Road, according to the Norwich Evening News.

But Fitzpatrick’s impending move to Anglia won’t go down well north of the border – and not just with Partick fans.

The Daily Record claims that Glasgow giants Rangers and Celtic are both interested in the 18-year-old winger. And while the report added that Norwich have seen a £300,000 bid rejected, the Evening News believes that it is only a matter of time before Fitzpatrick is wearing the famous yellow and green shirt.

He is expected to be unveiled as a Norwich player soon alongside Mair, the Scotland U19 goalkeeper who has agreed to join from Aberdeen.

Rangers appear to have all-but missed out on Fitzpatrick but they can console themselves with the fact that two of the league’s most explosive young wingers, Jake Hastie and Jordan Jones, have already been snapped up this year.

But the fact that Celtic were keen too will no doubt have Norwich fans giggling with glee. After all, there is certainly an element of revenge about this move after Celtic beat the Premier League newcomers to the £3.25 million signing of Motherwell starlet David Turnbull (Glasgow Evening Times).
