Gus Poyet has suggested to AS that Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen would be a good signing for Real Madrid.

According to The Sun, Spanish and European giants Madrid are interested in signing Eriksen from Tottenham in the summer transfer window.

Former Spurs midfielder Poyet has praised the Denmark international attacking midfielder, and has suggested that he can be a success at Madrid.

Poyet told AS when asked about Eriksen and Tottenham: “Yes. He always caught my attention. He understands football, he can play in many positions, he strikes the ball exceptionally, he takes responsibilities.

“The closer he is to the area, the more he influences the game, but if you are losing and you need more defence to start more offensively, he is also worth it.”

Leaving Tottenham Hotspur

Eriksen is one of the best and most creative midfielders in Europe, and the Tottenham star will indeed be a very good signing for Madrid in the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old creates and scores goals, and he is also a free-kick specialist, attributes which will endear him to the Santiago Bernabeu faithful.

However, with Madrid having signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea in the summer transfer window already, it remains to be seen just how keen the European giants are on landing Eriksen as well.

Eriksen made 30 starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham this past season, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
