Manchester United fans couldn’t help but laugh after Crystal Palace’s stance in negotiations with them over Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The Guardian have suggested that United included an add-on in the deal which would have seen Palace receive extra money for Wan-Bissaka if they went on to win the Champions League with him in their team.
However, Palace quickly rejected that add-on, as they felt it to be ‘wildly unrealistic’.
Palace and United are now continuing to negotiate an acceptable fee for the right-back.
And Red Devils fans have seen the humour in Palace’s tactics so far.
Inserting a unrealistic clause is something one does on football manager to sign a player. Not in real life. Oh, ed.— Doni (@DavidDeSaviour) June 24, 2019

Even in Football Manager I would not have included an add-on so unrealistic— Fayssal KADIRI (@FayssalKADIRII) June 24, 2019
We’re getting bantered by Palace ffs— Sean (@Football_Sean1) June 24, 2019
United do indeed seem to be a long way away from potential Champions League winners right now.
Wan-Bissaka’s arrival should help them tighten up their defence next season though, and that will be badly needed if United are to trouble the top four again.
