Everton have been linked with a move for the Mexico hitman.

Everton Director of Football Marcel Brands speaks to the media during a press conference at USM Finch Farm on June 4, 2018 in Halewood, England.

Carlo Jacomuzzi, an Everton scout, has rubbished speculation about a move for Hirving Lozano.

The prospect of the 23-year-old joining Everton crops up every now and again as a result of his link to Marcel Brands, the Toffees' Director of Football.

Brands once signed the PSV Eindhoven hitman when he was in charge of the Eredivisie club and, with Lozano potentially on the move this summer, a transfer to Goodison Park was always going to be touted.

But according to one of Marco Silva's scouts, he doesn't believe that the Mexico international will be coming to Merseyside this summer.

He told Area Napoli: "Lozano to Everton? That was discussed last year because he knows the director.

“Their scouts told him (Brands) to take him in the past, but the current rumours could be a move by his agent. As far as I know, Everton are looking at other players.”

Lozano impressed at last summer's World Cup, prompting speculation about a move to the likes of Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

He stayed at PSV and scored some 20 goals across all competitions last season which, for a striker in Dutch football, isn't a remarkable return.

Nevertheless, he may still leave the Eredivisie this summer and although Everton have been ruled out, other Premier League sides might well be interested.
