Everton winger Yannick Bolasie has been slated on Twitter after his latest international display for DR Congo.
Bolasie, whose Everton future is up in the air, was selected to start for his country in their first game at the African Cup of Nations.
However, DR Congo were beaten 2-0 by Uganda, and Bolasie took a great deal of criticism on social media.
The team looked lethargic the defense was all over the place. Bolasie playing fancy football lacked directness ... fair play to #Uganda they wanted it more and they meant business— Richard Kapend (@RichardKapend02) June 22, 2019
Bolasie is past it. Masuaku played really well. 2 goals conceded not his fault https://t.co/sPatwvJG5K— Glory Matondo (@glory243matondo) June 22, 2019
Bolasie is finished. Should never play for the national team ever again#afcon2019— Fred (@Fredilo_) June 22, 2019
Bolasie subbed with half an hour to go. That performance wont of helped us in trying to get rid of him— Bag Full of Toffee (@BagFullofToffee) June 22, 2019
Bolasie is terrible— too classy (@ClassyCavaleiro) June 22, 2019
Bolasie is washed— Dan (@d_tacticz) June 22, 2019
Yannick Bolasie hasn't improved DR Congo national team at all, in fact it appears he has somewhat had an adverse effect with the system having to be tweaked to accommodate him. #AFCON2019— kabelo_Moss. (@Kideo_Mah) June 22, 2019
Bolasie’s displays is unlikely to make it any easier for Everton to find a buyer for him this summer.
It is clear that the former £25 million signing (Guardian) has no future at Goodison Park with Marco Silva in charge.
Everton have loaned Bolasie out over the past campaign, with the winger spending time with both Aston Villa and Anderlecht.
And if Bolasie doesn’t improve his performances for his country, then his value could fall even further over the coming weeks, which would be bad news for Everton.
