Leeds United have made a ‘significant bid’ for Fulham’s highly-rated talent Cody Drameh, according to Sports Bible. But if the Whites pull off a deal for the youngster, could they be signing the next Ryan Sessegnon?

Drameh is a 17-year-old fullback, who likes to get forward and showcase his attacking prowess. As he proved with this sensational lob for the Fulham U-23’s in 2018, as posted on Soccer AM’s official Twitter account. Not only that, he has come through Fulham’s highly-rated academy.

Sound familiar? If Leeds do end up securing the signature of the youngster then they will no doubt be signing one of the top talents from the London-based academy.

It seems the norm now that the modern day fullback has to have the capabilities of getting forward. Players in those positions, at times, have to prove themselves more in the attacking third rather than in their own defensive half.

In Sessegnon’s case, whilst he can play at left-back, his attacking talents were just too good for him to remain in that position and he was pushed forward, which worked wonders because he helped Fulham earn promotion during the 2017/18 season because he scored 15 goals [transfermarkt] under Slavisa Jovanovic.

Drameh will need to go a long way to match Sessegnon’s recent rise because he is now one of the top talents in England and it won’t be a surprise if he is playing Premier League football next term despite Fulham’s relegation to the Championship.

During the recently concluded campaign, Drameh played at right-back, left-back and on the right wing for Fulham’s younger age groups, which perhaps proves that his coaches are still searching for a permanent role for him in a team.

Whether Drameh stays at Fulham or moves to Leeds, his career will be in safe hands because both clubs are known for producing top talents and taking their game to the next level.
