Premier League giants Spurs are reportedly keen to sign Italy wonderkid Federico Chiesa from Serie A outfit Fiorentina.

Comparing a young, Tottenham Hotspur linked winger to Gareth Bale is a dangerous game.
Not only is Bale a modern-day Spurs legend, he is also one of the most decorated and talented British footballers of his generation, a four-time Champions League winner who once became the world’s most expensive footballer.
But, in Federico Chiesa, Tottenham might actually have found a player capable of stepping into the shoes of a player who left White Hart Lane for £86 million six years ago.
The Sun reported recently that Tottenham have put the 21-year-old Fiorentina wonderkid top of their summer wishlist – even if he would cost a staggering £70 million. Crucially, Chiesa is keen on a move to North London despite interest from the likes of Juventus.
“Chiesa has dribbling skills and quality, but also stamina, pace and power. He’s like a young Gareth Bale who drives you crazy and never gives in,” Fiorentina director Giancarlo Antognoni then said, in quotes reported by Telegrafi.
And anyone who watched Chiesa in action for Italy at the U21 European Championships will know exactly why those comparisons make perfect sense.

He has been the go-to talisman for a star-studded Azzurri team containing Moise Kean, Patrick Cutrone, Nicolo Zaniolo and Nico Barrella, after all.
And after a stunning brace in the 3-1 win against Spain, which included a wonderful individual goal reminiscent of a young Bale himself, Chiesa produced another scintillating attacking display full of pace and power despite Italy’s shock defeat to Poland on Wednesday.
Maybe, just maybe, he is the ‘new Bale’ after all.
