According to an exclusive report from the Sun, Tottenham are demanding Marco Asensio from Real Madrid in exchange for Christina Eriksen.

The Dane''s contract with Spurs is due to expire int he summer of 2020, and he has been heavily linked with an exit from the club this summer, with Real Madrid leading the way for his signature.

The Sun reported earlier this week that Los Blancos were prepared to offer Tottenham £45 million plus Dani Ceballos for Eriksen, but the north London outfit were far from impressed with that offer.

And it seems as though Spurs want Madrid to up the ante.

According to the Sun, Tottenham want Marco Asensio in return for Eriksen.

The 23-year-old Spain international is a real talent, and he is believed to be available for £85 million this summer, according to Spanish media outlet AS.

He really would be an exceptional addition for Spurs, although he usually plays in a more attacking role than Eriksen, so he wouldn't be a like for like replacement for the Dane.

Either way, if Madrid do offer Asensio as part of the deal, Tottenham should jump at the chance to bring the Spaniard to north London.
