Mainz ace Jean-Philippe Gbamin could be on the move this summer, with Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton all interested in securing his signature, according to his agent.
The 23-year-old's representative Bernard Collignon spoke exclusively to German publication Fussball Transfers:
"I had meetings with Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, Everton and many other clubs. He is in the shortlist. However, not as a top candidate, because its exact position is unclear."
He then went on to suggest the defensive midfielder come centre-back is worth around €60 million (£54 million):
"In my opinion he is a player worth 60 million euros."
Gbamin is a versatile player who can operate in either the deep-lying midfield role or at centre-back, so that will surely appeal to Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton.
The five-capped Ivory Coast international has made 95 appearances for Mainz, and is still relatively inexperienced, so his agent's valuation of him does seem to be a little bit on the expensive side to say the very least.
The Merseyside clubs and Spurs would surely not even consider laying out that kind of cash for Gbamin, but that doesn't mean that they wouldn't like to sign him this summer.
The Mainz ace is comfortable in possession and possesses decent pace. The main question is whether or not he could handle the intensity of the Premier League.
It seems as though Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton will all have to pay a rather extortionate fee to find out, however.
