Liverpool are showing interest in Real Betis star Junior Firpo, report Estadio Deportivo.
Firpo is an intriguing option for the Reds and has shone this season in La Liga.
He could fulfil two roles for Liverpool, competing for positions at both left-back and on the wing.
It is this versatility which will appeal for the Reds, as they seek to add a back-up to Andy Robertson.
For a top level player to sign as a back-up, it's a tough sell, so Firpo potentially getting chances to play further forward as he has done at Betis this season will work well.
Ryan Sessegnon is another player who would fit the same mould, but Bleacher Report suggest Liverpool believe he is set to sign with Tottenham instead and are focusing their efforts elsewhere.
SkySports report Betis value Firpo at £45 million, which is the sort of fee Fulham are seeking for Sessegnon.
Spain under-21 international Firpo might well be the better player, and has had a more successful season in the top flight than the England prospect.
He scored against Barcelona and set up a goal against Real Madrid this past season.
At just 22, he is an exciting prospect, and one who will make Liverpool a stronger side if they pursue a deal.
