Everton could sign Marseille winger Lucas Ocampos for as little as £9 million this summer. At least, that is what the Argentine’s agent has told Le Phoceen.
At the age of 24, Ocampos has already represented a number of footballing giants with River Plate, AC Milan, Monaco and Marseille on his CV. And it seems that the Buenos Aires-born forward could be on the move again in the next couple of weeks.
Calciomercato reports that Everton are interested in bringing Ocampos to Goodison Park after his impressive season for an otherwise struggling Marseille side.
The versatile forward, who is arguably at his best on the left wing, produced five goals and eight assists in 2018/19.
And, speaking to Le Phoceen, Ocampos’ agent Bruno Satin has stressed that a move could be on the cards – potentially for a bargain fee.
“He was one of the few OM players to play well this season,” Satin said, transcribed by Foot Radio.
“For all this, I would say he could probably be sold for between 10 million euros and 15 million euros, maybe a little more but not much beyond that. After that, we must ask if it is wise to sell a player like that.”
For between £9 million and £13.5 million, Everton could sign a winger blessed with plenty of speed and trickery, potentially making him the latest diamond unearthed by the club’s esteemed director of football Marcel Brands.
But with plenty of wide midfielders at Marco Silva’s disposal, that money could perhaps be better invested elsewhere.
