Tottenham Hotspur could yet miss out on Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.
According to Tuttosport, Inter Milan sent sporting director Piero Ausilio to Cesena on Tuesday night to try and establish contact with Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.
Sessegnon, 19, was a Championship sensation with Fulham but found the step up to the Premier League a little more challenging, registering just two goals and six assists.
He’s now at the Under-21 European Championships in Italy with England, and started in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to France in Cesena.
It’s believed that Inter chief Ausilio made the trip to watch Sessegnon and potentially establish contact with the teenager about a move to the San Siro.
Sessegnon – capable of playing at left back or on either flank – has made it clear that he’s not staying at Fulham for the long-term, with his contract expiring next summer.
Inter now hope to get in and secure a deal, so Tottenham Hotspur better get a move on if they intend to sign Sessegnon, as has been reported.
The London Evening Standard claimed last week that Spurs are still in talks about a deal to sign Sessegnon, with some major haggling going on between the two clubs.
Spurs have been linked with Sessegnon for more than two years now, but still can’t get a deal agreed, despite Mauricio Pochettino’s interest. They really can’t afford to miss out on the youngster, and Inter’s interest in hijacking those talks should spark them into life.
