Stoke City have been heavily linked with Barnsley’s Adam Davies.

Stoke City’s reported attempts to sign Barnsley goalkeeper Adam Davies could come to fruition in the coming days as the Tykes announce they have signed a replacement in Bradley Collins from Chelsea.

Barnsley’s official website confirm Collins arrives at Oakwell on a four-year deal having impressed on loan at League One side Burton Albion last term, keeping 11 clean sheets.

The Tykes were seemingly hopeful of retaining Adam Davies’s services following his terrific campaign last time out, but his contract situation allows him to walk away on a free transfer at the end of this month.

Stoke have long been accredited with an interest as the Stoke Sentinel claimed last month how the Potters were confident of beating the likes of Birmingham City and Bristol City to his signature.

The Yorkshire Post goes further by adding Davies has agreed on a move to the Bet365 Stadium and official confirmation will be announced shortly.

Barnsley have been busy this summer as they seek to stay up in the Championship next season. They have already added German Mike-Steven Bahre and winger Luke Thomas from Derby County to their ranks.

Collins becomes the Yorkshire club’s third signing of the summer, and the 22-year-old has the ability to become the club’s long-standing number one.

26-year-old Davies, meanwhile, will seemingly become Stoke’s number one with the Potters likely to sell England international Jack Butland to a Premier League club should they receive a satisfactory offer.
