Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are reportedly set to announce Nicky Hammond as Lee Congerton’s replacement.

These are just some of the players who arrived at West Bromwich Albion during Nicky Hammond’s final few transfer windows at The Hawthorns. And, as any Baggies fan will tell you, each and every one of the aforementioned quartet was an unmitigated disaster.

This was just the tip of the iceberg.

Hammond might have helped West Brom secure promotion twice during his long spell as the club’s technical director but rapidly became a hugely unpopular figure as the Midland giants endured a remarkable decline under Tony Pulis and Alan Pardew.

He was sacked just a month before West Brom were relegated to the Championship last May.

And with Hammond apparently set to return to the top level by taking over from Lee Congerton at Celtic, according to the Scottish Sun, West Brom fans have flocked to Twitter to send the Scottish Premiership champions a warning about their new ‘transfer guru’.

Congerton was hardly a roaring success but, if Hammond’s final few years at The Hawthorns are anything to go by, he doesn’t look like an obvious upgrade for Celtic.
