Ryan Casciaro once contributed to Celtic's embarrassment and he'll hope to humiliate Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers too.

Ryan Casciaro contributed to the humiliation of Celtic three years ago - and now he wants the chance to inflict the same embarrassment on their Old firm rivals Rangers.

Casciaro, a part-time policeman, was part of the Lincoln Red Imps side that shocked Europe by beating Celtic 1-0 in a Champions League qualifier in 2016.

The 35-year-old is now plying his trade with St Joseph’s and the centre-back could be set for a Europa League qualifier against Steven Gerrard's Rangers.

If the Gibraltar side get Kosovo outfit Prishtina, they will book a date with the Ibrox side in the first round of qualifying for Europe's secondary competition - and facing the Scottish giants would be an 'honour'.

He told The Scottish Sun: "It was lucky we got the chance to face Celtic — and we have to say we are lucky again to be in with a chance of playing Rangers.

"Not many players from my country could look back and say they have beaten both these historic clubs, but I could have that chance. I was with Lincoln when we beat Celtic and now a chance to play Rangers has presented itself.

“It would be an honour to play against a team like Rangers and, of course, I know we could make more history for Gibraltar — just as we did against Celtic. To play against a team of Rangers’ stature is an opportunity that we all want."

If the Gers do meet St Joseph's, Gerrard's side won't be taking them lightly.

Two years ago, the light Blues, then under Pedro Caixinha, were dumped out of Europa League in the first round of qualifiers by Progres Niederkorn in one of the most embarrassing results in the Scottish club's history.

Losing to St Joseph's would be an even bigger shock, but Casciaro, whose brother Lee scored the winner against the Hoops, certainly knows what it takes to pull off massive upsets.
