Liverpool have reportedly touched base with a former Everton target.
Calciomercato reported three years ago that Everton wanted the 27-year-old to replace John Stones, who had just signed for Manchester City.
And no doubt some Toffees fans might feel a tad envious if he winds up at Anfield.
Centre-back is a bit of a concern for the Goodison Park side right now.
Yerry Mina had a mixed first season with the club and, as things stand, it doesn't look like Kurt Zouma will be re-joining after impressing under Marco Silva on loan from Chelsea last term.
In contrast, Jurgen Klopp already has a stable of brilliant central defenders - including Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk - at Liverpool, and the rich will get much richer if they sign somebody of Koulibaly's vintage.
If the £100 million price-tag is accurate then he's way too expensive for Everton, but if he joins the Reds and impresses then those on the blue side of the Merseyside divide might be left thinking what could've been.
