Pixar’s Toy Story 4 is heading to cinemas this week but is this fan-favourite character going to make an appearance?

Toy Story 4 is heading its way into cinemas this Friday and we’re beyond excited to see just what’s in store for Woody, Buzz and the gang.

However, from what we’ve seen in the film’s trailers, the story is focusing very much on the two main stars, and a collection of new toys, seemingly putting the old gang to one side.

In doing so, could fan-favourite cowgirl Jessie be lost in the background of Pixar’s fourth Toy Story adventure?

What’s Toy Story 4 all about?

With Andy now at college, Woody, Buzz and the gang have to put that chapter behind them and embrace life with their new owner, Bonnie,  the young girl who took the toys in at the end of Toy Story 3 in one hell of a tear-jerking ending.

The premise of the story revolves around a toy Bonnie made herself, Forky, who we’ve all seen in the trailers at this point.

Forky, who is little more than a spork and some pipe cleaners, is filled with existential dread and firmly believes he’s little more than trash. As a result, he abandons Bonnie which leaves Woody and Buzz with the unenviable task of bringing him home.

Along the way, Woody and Buzz come across a whole new gang of toys including Duke Caboom, Ducky and Bunny as well as a long-awaited reunion between Woody and Bo Peep who was absent from 2010’s Toy Story 3.

Together, they must rescue Forky and get safely back to Bonnie.

Is Jessie in Toy Story 4?

With the film’s focus centring on Woody and Buzz, a lot of the old gang look to be pushed to one side, at least as far as we can make out from the trailers.

While Toy Story 3 gave us the biggest collaboration between Andy’s toys, having them all working together to escape Sunnyside Daycare, Toy Story 4 looks to be taking a more focused approach.

As a result, a number of fan-favourite characters appear to be taking a back seat in the film.

One such character could well be Jessie, the rootin’ tootin’ cowgirl first introduced in Toy Story 2.

While she will definitely appears in the film, as we are able to see her in the trailers, there is a huge possibility that she could well be absent from a lot of the action which would, of course, be a huge shame.

However, given the fact that Toy Story 4 is returning to the series’ routes and giving us a narrower focus on just Woody and Buzz, the decision to potentially limit the screen time of the whole gang does make a degree of sense.

We’ll be able to find out for certain when Toy Story 4 hits cinemas across the world on Friday, June 21st, 2019.
