The Benfica striker is a reported transfer target for Southampton.
Southampton are interested in signing Benfica hitman Haris Seferovic this summer, according to a report from Portuguese media outlet A Bola, and some Saints fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.
The south coast club barely avoided relegation last season, with a lack of goals contributing to their poor Premier League campaign, so Ralph Hasenhuttl will undoubtedly have to add more firepower to his ranks at St Mary's this summer.
And Seferovic could be just the man for the job next season for Southampton.
The 27-year-old was in superb form for Benfica last term, racking up an impressive 27 goals and nine assists in 51 appearances in all competitions, and that's exactly the kind of attacking output that the Saints have lacked in recent years.
He is an established, proven goalscorer, although the step up in quality and intensity in the Premier League might be a tough challenge for him.
Some Southampton fans took to Twitter, and delivered their verdicts on the possibility of the Switzerland international arriving at St Mary's this summer...
Was okay in the Bundesliga, think that one season in an otherwise mediocre career might be a jerk reaction.— Scott Winter (@ScottWSFC) 21 May 2019
My thoughts exactly. He's been average or below average his entire career prior to 2019— Cameran ⚽ (@camtotheyams) 21 May 2019
28 goals in the Portuguese top flight is equivalent to 1 goal from the spot in the prem. If he’s willing to come to us for £200,000 and £30.00p a week wages then let’s go for it. Until we’ve got rid of the huge earners forget it. We can’t ruin our club!— StMarysPirate (@pirate_st) 22 May 2019
Can't we just make a signing all these players linked to us once again— john sawyer (@johnsawyer3) 21 May 2019
will be many more of these before the window closes— Jane (@blondiesaint) 21 May 2019
I know ralph said he wants to.get things done early.— john sawyer (@johnsawyer3) 21 May 2019
Can’t see much truth in this one. Doesn’t fit into what Ralph has said— Justin woodward (@JustinWoody76) 21 May 2019
Wasn’t he pretty shite in the World Cup? Haven’t seen him since tbf— Redderz (@RahilMajid) 21 May 2019
5 in 4 in Switzerland's Nations League group iirc— Jack (@HasenhuttlIn) 21 May 2019
Fella is decent I’d be happy to see him at st Mary’s— Stephen George Lott (@stephenlott) 18 June 2019
