According to the Bristol Post, Nottingham Forest are competing with Bristol City for the signature of Albert Adomah, following his release from Aston Villa.

Villa decided against keeping Adomah after their promotion to the Premier League, and Martin O’Neill would like to bring him to Forest now.

Forest don’t face a clear run for the 31-year-old, as plenty of Championship clubs are also keen.

Bristol City and Millwall are said to have an interest, with Forest set to have to beat fierce competition for the wide-man.

Crucially, Adomah is said to be eager to remain in the Midlands, which may put Forest at an advantage.

However, the idea of a return to Bristol City is also said to appeal to Adomah.

Good signing?

Adomah is almost guaranteed to be a success if he was to move to Forest, as he is so proven at Championship level.

The Ghanian may be ageing now, but he still remains a threat in the second tier.

And if Forest could pick him up on a free transfer then it could be one of the bargains of the summer.
