Championship quartet Forest, Swansea City, Huddersfield Town and Bristol City reportedly want Forest Green Rovers’ League Two defender.

Nottingham Forest and Swansea City are just two of the clubs interested in signing Forest Green Rovers defender Nathan McGinley, according to TEAMtalk.

Forest Green missed out on promotion to League One last month when they were beaten by Tranmere in the play-offs and, as a result, they look set to lose a few of their key players during what promises to be a challenging transfer window.

As reported by The Sun (18 June, page 48), star forward Reece Brown is set to join Huddersfield Town despite interest from Yorkshire neighbours Leeds United.

And TEAMtalk believes that McGinley could be on his way too with a number of Championship teams showing an interest.

Huddersfield are keen on McGinley as well as Brown, though they face competition from Nottingham Forest, Swansea and Bristol City. The 22-year-old only joined Forest Green last summer from Middlesbrough and can play at centre-half or left-back.

He could potentially replace Martin Olsson at Swansea with the Sweden international set to be released while Nottingham Forest are still short of depth at left-back, given that Jack Robinson often started in the position throughout 2018/19.
