Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is said to be keen on snapping up Bristol City defender Adam Webster.

Bristol City fans really aren’t keen on the idea of selling Adam Webster to Newcastle United.

TeamTalk suggest that Newcastle want to buy the centre-back for £12 million this summer.

But Bristol City supporters feel that Webster is worth far more than that fee, and have suggested that they should not consider any offers from Newcastle or any other sides.

Webster won Bristol City’s Player of the Season award last term, and is regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the Championship.

The 24-year-old is very comfortable in possession and has been a rock in the heart of the Robins’ defence.

If Webster was to move to Newcastle he would have plenty of competition for a place though.

Rafael Benitez’s side already have the likes of Fabian Schar, Jamaal Lascelles, Federico Fernandez and Florian Lejeune competing for a place in their starting line-up.
