And that has prompted the following Blues fans to speculate as to where the 40-year-old may end up. Their conclusion being Derby...

Lampard led Derby to the play-off final in his full first season in charge, with Monk leading Birmingham to a respectable 17th against a backdrop of financial problems which led to a nine-point deduction.
The former centre-back has previously managed at Swansea City, Leeds United and Middlesbrough with mixed success and is said to have been considered by Derby in 2016.
