Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has told Telefoot that he thinks Tottenham Hotspur are a 'great team' amid links with joining the club.
Spurs are in the market for midfield reinforcements this summer, and one key for Mauricio Pochettino is to find a midfielder to replace Moussa Dembele.
Moussa Sissoko filled that role well in 2019, but adding a quality box-to-box midfielder with the drive and technique of Dembele would be a major signing.
Lyon ace Ndombele has emerged as the top target, with the London Evening Standard claiming that Spurs are confident they can get a deal done for the Frenchman.
The 22-year-old is expected to cost at least £60million, meaning Spurs will have to shatter their transfer record to sign him after two impressive years at Lyon.
Formerly of Amiens, Ndombele has starred with Lyon and now finds himself in the French national team, leading some wot wonder whether he'd actually be interested in joining Spurs.
Now, Ndombele has broken his silence on the situation, admitting that he thinks Tottenham are a 'great team', praising them as a 'big club' – and admitted that he'd be interested in joining any big club, hinting that he may well be keen on a move to Tottenham if they can agree a deal with Lyon.
“Yes, it's true that Tottenham is a great team,” said Ndombele. “It's a big club, they finished 4th in their league, they're a finalist in the Champions League, it's still a big club like any other. Which player would not be interested in a big club?” he added.
