Celtic and Rangers are reportedly keen on West Ham United midfielder Marcus Browne, who has had an admirer in Rio Ferdinand for some time now.
Goal recently claimed that Browne will get a shot in pre-season for West Ham, as Celtic and Rangers wait in the wings with interest.
One year ago, prior to Browne's successful loan spell at League One side Oxford, Ferdinand stated on his personal Twitter account that the 'first-team awaits' the talented youngster.
The former England international was making reference to Browne's performance for West Ham's Under-23's.
Fast forward to today and Browne is being linked with a move to two of Scotland's biggest clubs in Celtic and Rangers.
This is further indicating that the future is very bright for the attack-minded midfielder and Ferdinand's comments are coming true because he is now seemingly a stone throw away from the first-team.
It remains to be seen whether he will go out on loan to either Glasgow duo yet because if he impresses in pre-season for the Hammers then he won't be going anywhere.
But even if Browne needs to go out to another club on a temporary basis again, this surely will be the last hurdle to senior football for the East London club.
If he can produce the goods in Scotland for either Old Firm club then that'll skyrocket his career to another level.
